Is your former elementary schools on the list? If so, you would have gone to Milagro!

MMS focuses on preparing students for high school in a variety of ways. First and foremost, is having multiple teachers a day and handling all that there is in organizing ones-self to find success. We offer a variety of electives including three different art classes, computer coding, robotics, theater, family and consumer sciences, and of course your classical musics: band, chorus, orchestra, and guitar! MMS utilizes the middle school model when it comes to scheduling. This means that the same teachers have the same students. This is particularly helpful when it comes to parent conferences.

At MMS we view ourselves as a STEAM school. Steam is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. In an effort to plan for the future, we strive to include element of coding in as many of our courses as possible, all in the name of preparing these kids for the jobs of tomorrow (some of which have not even been invented, yet!).

History

Milagro Middle School has not been in existence for very long. Due to shifts in population enrollment, the SFPS school board made the difficult decision to and ultimately voted to combine two beloved middle schools: Capshaw and Devargas Middle Schools. Each school was ripe with history and tradition. We at MMS look to create our own traditions, and hope to one day have the love and adoration our now-descendant schools once held within the community. Milagro Middle School was temporarily housed at the Capshaw Middle School site while the new Milagro Middle School was being built on the Devargas Middle School site for the 2017-2018 school year and the 2018-2019 school year. The newly constructed building was completed the summer of 2019. Milagro Middle School, as it is known now, has been in place since the 2019-2020 school year.

Sorry, lunch and drink deliveries will not be accepted, as our classes are focused on delivering an education to your child. We are not staffed to hand deliver food or to pull your child out of class, unless there is a valid education-related concern.
